Honda's efforts to develop a hydrogen-powered iteration of the

CR-V compact SUV have been known for some time; the new CR-V fuel cell (FCEV) will

be available in the United States by the end of the year. Its appearance is, unsurprisingly, that of a

CR-V, although the front-end design differs slightly. Particularly noteworthy are the modifications made to the grille design, lower fascia, and headlamps.

Consequently, the CR-V can be plugged in to charge a compact battery cell, which will concurrently provide energy to the electric motor.

It is unknown by how much this will increase electric range, but we anticipate Honda to disclose specifications shortly.
